Our Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program begins with a standards-based core curriculum. Teachers use the following categories to provide appropriate differentiated challenges:
Students move rapidly through the core curriculum by self-pacing or an advanced course.
Elaboration of the core curriculum through the study of details, patterns, language of the discipline, trends, unanswered questions, rules, ethics, and generalizations.
Extension of the core curriculum through an interdisciplinary study of issues, problems and themes.
Mastery of the content through personalized and non-traditional work products.
