Our Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program begins with a standards-based core curriculum. Teachers use the following categories to provide appropriate differentiated challenges:
Acceleration/Pacing
Students move rapidly through the core curriculum by self-pacing or an advanced course.
Depth
Elaboration of the core curriculum through the study of details, patterns, language of the discipline, trends, unanswered questions, rules, ethics, and generalizations.
Complexity
Extension of the core curriculum through an interdisciplinary study of issues, problems and themes.
Novelty
Mastery of the content through personalized and non-traditional work products.

GATE Parent Discussion Group Opportunity
