Dear Parents/Guardian:
This school year, we have had a few instances of middle school students logging on to district network accounts that do not belong to them. I am attaching the Acceptable Use of Technology Policy that the district has provided to all students. The first time any student logs into the district network, this policy pops up and each student is asked to read and acknowledge the policy. Teachers have been encouraged to remind students of this policy when they work in our school labs. Specifically, page 2, number 5 discusses accessing another individual’s materials, information, or files without permission. Parents can help by reviewing this policy at home with your students and reminding them that the policy extends to home computer use and personal devices as well as district computers.
