8th Grade Promotion Reminders for Tomorrow

Dear 8th Grade Families,

 

In order to make 8th grade promotion run smoothly and to make it an enjoyable experience for all students and their guests, please read and adhere to the following guidelines:

 

8th grade promotion will begin at 9:30 a.m. Guests should park in the neighborhood and may enter the promotion area through any gate. There is no saving of seats unless prior arrangements have been made. Elderly guests or guests with medical needs have first priority under the shaded structures toward the rear of the promotion area.

 

At 9:00 a.m., 8th Grade students should report to the middle school area to line up. All students need to be lined up and ready to march by 9:15 a.m.

 

Siblings who attend Cubberley should come on campus with their families and leave campus with their families. The office will not be calling students out of class to attend promotion.

 

Cell phones should be placed on silent during the ceremony.

 

Please do not block the view of other people during the ceremony. When a parent attends their child’s promotion, the most important part of the ceremony is for them to see their child walk across the stage and be recognized by name. Therefore, you should remain seated during the ceremony and should be mindful of those behind you when taking photographs or video.

No balloons, large signs, or umbrellas are allowed in the seating area. Please leave balloons in your car until after the ceremony or secure them to the back of the lunch bench area.

 

There is no standing in the aisles or walking to the front of the student section to take pictures or to hand items to the promoting students.

 

Do not bring air horns or any other noisemakers. If you are screaming or making unnecessary noise, others will have a difficult time hearing their students’ names and their messages.

 

All small guests should be supervised by their families and should not be unsupervised during the ceremony. During the pledge, national anthem, speeches, musical performances, etc… there should be no talking.


Please do not leave water bottles, programs, etc… in the seating area.

 

Please pass this information on to others who are attending the ceremony with you.

 

We would like to congratulate all of our Cubberley 8th graders and we wish them the best of luck in high school. Promotion packages should be picked up in the cafeteria by the graduates at the conclusion of the ceremony.
